It is our great pleasure to announce that our first CD for the label Solo Musica featuring works by Haydn, Ligeti and Hensel is out now!
Ligeti, known as one of the fathers of musical chaos, was a great admirer of Haydn. He studied the works of the master in detail to find inspiration and solutions for his own compositions. In Haydn’s Op. 20/5, the music progresses from a tragic F-minor opening to a liberating fugue, representing the transition from sickness to the triumph of life. In contrast, Ligeti’s “métamorphoses nocturnes” take listeners on a journey from the lowest note of the cello to the heavenly stars. Fanny Hensel’s jewellery box piece continues the metamorphosis throughout its four movements, starting from tonal ambiguity and culminating in a joyful E-Flat Major party in the final movement, providing long-awaited relief and release!
We would like to express our immense gratitude to all those involved in making this project a reality: MDW Wien, Solo Musica München, Davide Bertuccio, Benedikt Ross, Johannes Meissl, and Harald Haslmayr.
