L. van Beethoven: String Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 130/133

In the intimate setting of Schloss Wasserhof in Gneixendorf near Krems, where Beethoven visited his brother, the late string quartet op. 130 takes center stage and is accompanied by recitation. The work was created in times of serious illness and in places, it contains hints of vocal music. The work is performed in the rarely performed and technically challenging original version with the Grand Fugue Op.133 as the final culminating movement of this monumental work.
